La Ville De Petit-Goave Petit-Goâve est à 62 kil. O. S.
O. de Port-au-Prince, fondée au début du 17ème siècle plus
précisément en 1655, était en tant que point stratégique des
flibustiers après l’Ile de La Tortue. Dans cette anse
immense et calme qui cachait tout: la terre, leurs repères
et leurs butins.
L’Acul concentrait toutes les activités et ils ont même
laisse une croix en bois, qui existe toujours, butin trouve
dans un bateau qu’ils avaient pille, Petit-Goave se déplace
vers le nord selon le plan que lui confina l’ingénieur Jean
Pelletier et elle s’éleva au rang de paroisse en 1663. Au
mois d'août 1685, un édit du roi Louis XIV avait créé le
conseil souverain de Saint-Domingue, séant au Petit-Goave,
et auquel ressortissaient quatre siéges royaux dont les
chefs-lieux étaient le Petit-Goave, Léogane, le Port-de-Paix
et le Cap. Petit-Goave fut autrefois la capitale d’Haïti
donc cette ville a un passe historique très florissant.

The foundation for the rehabilitation and
development also known as FRED,
in its concern to improve the quality of life for
the population of Petit-Goâve has submitted to the
Mayor a draft of a five-year plan for revitalization
and development of the town of Petit-Goâve and his
surrounding districts. The City Council, in its
correspondence dated 24 December 2007, gave its full
support to this project and recommended it to any
institution wishing to make a contribution to its
realization. The city Council endorsed the draft and
delegates to the FRED
the delicate and important mission to actively

the southern Peninsula of Haiti within 4 miles of the
historic city of Petit Goave, the first capital of Haiti

also known as the final resting place of the Haitian
Emperor, Faustin Soulouque, who was the 2nd Haitian and

ont un penchant pour les visiteurs et les « étrangers ». Si
l’on tient compte parfois des mauvaises informations qui se
propagent ou qui se répandent à tort ou à raison au sujet de
la ville de Petit-Goâve, certaines personnes auraient pu
conclure que Petit-Goâve est une ville à haut risque qu’il

Petit-Goave Update.
CHF Constructs Major Road and Drainage Network in Beatrice,
Petit-Goave

In June, CHF completed work on the road to Beatrice, a
neighborhood nestled in the low mountains 1 kilometer south
of downtown Petit-Goave. The section of road is the first
leg of the Route des Palmes, one of the most critical
farm-to-market roads in the region, linking the Route
National through downtown Petit-Goave with both the fertile
farmland of Palmes and thousands of residents of the area.
From March through June, CHF workers constructed masonry
structures including 1.6 kilometers of drainage canals, 2
culverts, and a 15-meter-long, 8-meter-tall retaining wall.
This work complements a previous road and canal project at
Beatrice that CHF completed in September 2009. Moreover,
this project definitively resolves drainage issues along
this section of road, which is home to an estimated 5,000
people.
